A thief stole a 40,000-euro watch from a foreign tourist who was getting into a taxi on Barcelona’s Rambla. As El Caso has advanced and the Catalan police have confirmed, the events happened at eight in the afternoon on Monday, May 22.
The assailant fled the scene through the streets of Ciutat Vella and was pursued by several patrol cars from the Mossos d’Esquadra motorized unit that patrolled the area.
Finally, the thief was arrested near the area where he had committed the robbery thanks to the collaboration of the Urban Police. The agents were able to recover the watch, valued at 40,000 euros, which was hidden inside the counters of a house and returned it to its owner.
Due to the jerk, the tourist suffered minor injuries. The arrested man is charged with robbery with violence.
