Today at 4:40 p.m., the Generalitat Fire Department located the lifeless body of the young hiker who disappeared on August 2nd in the Vall de Boí (Alta Ribagorça).
The body has been found near the Cavallers Dam, one of the areas that were being reviewed since yesterday as probable routes that the young man could have taken for the descent of his excursion.
The 24-year-old boy, originally from Tarragona, was preparing to climb the top of Punta Alta de Comalesbienes, a march that he undertook this Wednesday morning.
The young man made the ascent correctly, since he called his relatives in the middle of the afternoon to tell them that he would start the descent. Around 10 pm, the firefighters received a call from the family, concerned because they had no news about the hiker.
The Bombers launched a device on Wednesday that continued on Thursday without results and that has been resumed this Friday until the body is found.
Yesterday, Jews, 14 teams and 2 helicopters participated, among them the rescue unit of the Generalitat Fire Department with the helicopter, the GRAE and a doctor from the SEM, and the GROS with drones. The Mountain Rescue Group of the Aran Firefighters and Mossos d’Esquadra of the Mountain Intervention Unit (UIM) will also participate.
The Firefighters work with the hypothesis that the hiker would have suffered a problem or an accident while descending from the top. It has been explained by the head of the GRAE of the body, Oriol Vilalta, who has affirmed that there is no indication that the young man had committed imprudence.
