The SOS Animals Catalunya entity has announced that it is filing a complaint for a possible case of animal abuse that occurred last Monday in Mollet del Vallès (Vallès Oriental). The man kicked and pulled the dog’s leash hard as it was walking in the rain. The events were recorded by a passerby and the recording will be used as evidence to demand that custody of the animal be removed.

The events occurred mid-morning in Mollet and according to the animal association, apart from the blows and the pulling of the leash, “it is shocking that the animal was getting wet” with the downpour that was falling on the Vallesan city at that time. According to the same entity, these are not isolated events since the dog, named Nutella, “has been beaten on other occasions” as evidenced by the threats and fear that the animal shows in the face of threats from its aggressor. For this reason, they will also demand that the town council promote the corresponding complaints in compliance with the Animal Welfare Law.

In parallel, SOS Animals Catalunya will present the proper complaint and documentation with the evidence obtained before the Mossos d’Esquadra. They will also require the court on duty to, as a precautionary measure, order that the animal be requisitioned until a firm decision is made.

Likewise, the association issues a message for the animal’s guardian to immediately deliver it to the shelter. “We understand that a person like this is not qualified to have animals in his care.” The incident has had a lot of significance on social networks and several neighbors have offered to go out in search of the aggressor throughout the city.
