They denounce a homophobic aggression during the vervain of Sant Joan in Barcelona

The Observatory Against Homophobia (OCH) has “immediately activated the protocols” after a homophobic attack on two boys that occurred during the Sant Joan party on Mar Bella beach in Barcelona.

Speaking to Europa Press, the president of the OCH, Eugeni Rodríguez, condemned what happened on Sunday and reported that a group of five boys attacked a couple who were on the beach “quietly kissing each other.”

He explained that he has communicated the facts to the mayor of Barcelona, ??Jaume Collboni, and has called for the council to “act immediately and condemn this new attack on the LGTB collective.”

Rodríguez has also informed the Mossos d’Esquadra about the facts and has said that they are “waiting” for a reaction, which he literally hopes will be work.

He has stressed that the history of cases registered by the OCH indicates that the night of the Sant Joan festival and that of Carnival there is an upturn in cases: “These events usually happen.”

“The most important thing when there is an attack is the health of the victims, the health center has the obligation to report on the attacks,” he added.

One of the attacked has warned of the events in a video published on his Instagram account and picked up by Europa Press, where he has criticized the lack of police action and that medical care “was crap”.
