The crime balance corresponding to the first quarter of this year, which has just been made public by the Ministry of the Interior, confirms a slight decrease in known criminal acts in the city of Barcelona. Specifically, this decrease, as far as conventional crime is concerned, is 2.4% compared to the first three months of 2023. They stand out especially due to the weight they have in the statistics collected by all the police forces that operate in Catalonia, the decreases in the number of thefts (from 21,809 between January and March of last year to 19,376 in the same period of 2024, 11.2% less) and robberies with violence and intimidation (3,339 and 2,918, respectively , a year-on-year drop of 12.6%)
The set of crimes associated with conventional crime drops by 2.4% in the Catalan capital in the first quarter of 2024 in relation to 2023.
