I share in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos this image captured from Borrassà, in Alt Enpordà, a reflection of this splendid spring.

We can appreciate the greenery of the fields and the great flowering of rapeseed, where everything has been painted yellow. Meanwhile, on the highest peak, the white Canigó appears majestically.

The Canigó massif is located in the French region of Roselló and the highest point is Pica del Canigó, with 2784 meters. Snowy, it emerges painted white in the background.

This mountain houses among its sites the monasteries of Sant Martí del Canigó and Sant Miquiel de Cuixà, of great architectural value.

Rapeseed can be a profitable crop, which is increasingly spreading to more areas in Catalonia, such as in this case Alt Empordà. The Osona region is where there are the most extensions, although it is also present in Garrotxa and others.

It is a crop that is used to produce fodder and biodiesel. Nowadays, in addition, the mechanization of work in the field has made the process of harvesting rapeseed faster and more productive.
