The Civil Guard has arrested in Malaga the woman who reported alleged sexual assault against the lawyer Cándido Conde-Pumpido, son of the president of the Constitutional Court of the same name, under an international search warrant issued by Brazil for an attempted murder. in that country.

As confirmed to EFE by the detainee’s lawyer, the arrest took place in Malaga as a result of an International Surrender Order at the request of Brazil.

The woman, 37 years old and of Brazilian origin, was wanted and captured in her country of origin, Brazil, for trying to stab another woman, according to sources from the Civil Guard.

The events of which the detainee is accused occurred in 2022, when in the course of an argument, this person stabbed another woman several times, requiring the same hospitalization in intensive care, with serious risk to her life.

The operation began at the end of last November, after the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard received information about these events from the Brazilian authorities.

On November 23, the woman who accused Cándido Conde-Pumpido Jr. of an alleged rape withdrew the complaint against him. The lawyer was arrested for allegedly participating in a group sexual assault, but this woman later waived the corresponding civil and criminal actions.

Following the complaint, the lawyer was arrested on November 3 along with two other people, but was released by the judge considering that the images recorded by the security cameras in his home provided by his defense distorted the story of the events. .

According to the judge, in the images provided by Conde-Pumpido’s defense you could see different rooms of the chalet where the crime was allegedly committed in which one of the accused does not appear, contrary to the woman’s version.
