The water of Rialp y Alins, in the Pallars Sobirà (Lleida), is already suitable for consumption after the analyzes have come out clean of nonylphenol, the chemical component that since last week forces to restrict the consumption of drinking water in municipalities of the region and Segrià.
In this sense, Rialp and Alins have returned to normal consumption of drinking water after Sorpe, which they did on Monday, while Peramea and Massalcoreig remain waiting to know the results of the studies.
Since last Wednesday, residents had to use bottled water for drinking and cooking, as in the other affected municipalities.
The Provincial Council of Lleida has been responsible for paying the costs of supplying drinking water to the municipalities affected by the appearance in the distribution networks of this chemical component linked to industrial detergents.
