The board of prosecutors of the Supreme Court has disauthorized the preliminary report on Democratic Tsunami when it is understood by the majority that there are indications of the existence of a crime of terrorism.

According to tax sources, this was decided by 12 votes to three. Furthermore, eleven of them consider, contrary to Álvaro Redondo’s report, that there is sufficient evidence for the High Court to investigate the former president of the Generalitat Carles Puigdemont.

The new report must be prepared by another prosecutor or even the lieutenant prosecutor of the Supreme Court as there is a disparity in criteria between the Prosecutor’s Office of the National Court and that of the Supreme Court.

The report that has been debated today understood that what happened at the El Prat airport as a protest against the ruling of the process could not be considered terrorism. Among other things, because it could not be understood that there was an illegal detention of the air traffic controllers because they could not go to their jobs due to the access blockade.

Redondo’s text also warned that the evidence collected by the judge of the National Court Manuel García-Castellón was too open for the Supreme Court to initiate a formal investigation against the former Catalan president, as he is currently acquitted due to his status as a MEP.
