I am sharing this photograph in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia as a preview to the “night race” that will be held tomorrow, September 9, the Burriac Atac 2023, in Vilassar de Mar.

It is taken from the Can Boquet Dolmen with the intention of capturing the sunrise completely enveloping the Castell de Burriac.

I planned this photo two months ago and I was able to take it on Tuesday, September 5 at 7:21 in the morning, just at the moment that coincidence occurred. It was very exciting to live the whole experience.

The Can Boquet Dolmen is located in the Cordillera Litoral Park, in Vilassar de Dalt. It is the best-known megalith in the Maresme region.

It is also popularly known as Roca d’en Toni, probably due to the fact that the owner of the land was the shepherd Toni Puig, according to records from the 19th century.

The Castle of Burriac or Castle of Sant Vicenç is a castle that rises on the hill of Burriac, at 392 meters of altitude, in the term Cabrera de Mar and next to that of Argentona.

Due to its location, it is very visible from a good part of central Maresme. It has been an unbeatable point of surveillance and control of the territory since it was built on a previous defense tower, from Roman times, and it has been declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest.
