The interest of the automotive sector and drivers in zero-emission cars continues to grow by leaps and bounds, especially on our continent. That is why, more and more often, the new proposals that most surprise and attract the most attention are usually powered by electric motors.
One of these novelties that, at first glance, does not seem so due to its classic aesthetics, comes from the specialists of the Italian firm Aznom Automotive. This brand, whose name may seem strange but is nothing more than the name of the city of Monza written backwards, has revealed a curious version of the Fiat 500 Spiaggina.
And we say curious because it preserves the vintage appearance of the automobile that emerged in the 1950s but has 100% electric mobility, demonstrating that this modern technology is fully compatible in a harmonious way with the classic design. It has been named 500 Spiaggina E-Classic and reflects the automotive industry’s growing trend of creating products that fuse nostalgia with innovation.
Aznom has focused on a purist approach to recover the iconic Fiat 500 and convert it to electric, seeking to attract the modern and ecological driver. To achieve this, all its structural and mechanical components and even the interior of the cabin have been restored, but always respecting the DNA of the classic car.
In aesthetic terms, the stylish vehicle has a roof instead of a roof, ropes instead of doors, leather upholstery and a striking blue tone. Some small changes can be seen in the instrumentation, such as the fact that it now has a circular element equipped with a small screen that shows the speed at which you are traveling and the remaining electric range.
However, under the vintage body of the little Fiat, innovative technology and quality materials are hidden. The heart of the 500 Spiaggina E-Classic is an electric motor that develops a maximum power of 20 kW (equivalent to 27 HP). It’s a modest figure by current electric vehicle standards, but it allows the vehicle to reach a top speed of almost 90 km/h.
In this sense, it must be taken into account that it is a car designed for urban and recreational use. In fact, Aznom itself highlights that the 500 Spiaggina E-Classic is perfect for hotels, resorts or rental companies and also suitable for private summer use in beach or holiday resorts.
The electric motor is powered by an 11 kWh battery that offers a maximum range of 90 km with each recharge, which again shows that it has been designed for short trips.
Another important aspect is that the car can be fully recharged in just six hours. If you are interested in seeing in detail an electric 500 Spiaggina that is quite similar to Aznom’s, you just have to take a look at the video that accompanies this article.
