The emergency teams have resumed early in the morning the search for the man who disappeared on Saturday at noon in front of the Mar Bella beach in Barcelona, ??at the bottom of which divers from the Civil Guard are already diving, sources from this body have informed EFE.

These services were alerted around two in the afternoon that a man had seen from land how another man, who was wearing a neoprene suit, was tied to a buoy in front of the Mar Bella beach, and that he had subsequently disappeared in the sea.

The search device this Sunday is made up of practically the same troops as yesterday, including submariners from the GEAS group of the Civil Guard; a helicopter and a Maritime Rescue vessel; equipment of the Barcelona Bombers; units of the Generalitat Bombers, as well as the Urban Guard, Mossos, Red Cross and health personnel.

The command post for this search has been located in the Parc del Fòrum, where new search locations are currently being decided while the divers search again on the seabed where the missing person was searched for yesterday.

Yesterday’s search work was made difficult by the terrible sea conditions, with strong waves, strong currents and poor visibility at the bottom due to the debris thrown up by the Besòs and Llobregat rivers due to the intense rains that fell on Catalonia on Saturday.

Rescue personnel are working with the hypothesis that the man could have disappeared due to drowning or suffering an accident as a result of the storm.

The disappearance occurred on a complicated day due to the weather conditions in which Civil Protection activated different prevention plans due to strong waves, rain, wind and snow in Catalonia.
