Local Police officers from Santa Coloma de Gramanet (North Barcelona) have immobilized a modified Personal Mobility Vehicle (VMP) that reached a top speed of 111 km/h.
The removal of the electric scooter took place during the preventive security work carried out in District 5 of the city, where the agents detected the manipulated device during the dynamic patrol in the area. After verifying the vehicle, the agents found that it was capable of four times exceeding the limit allowed for this type of vehicle, which is 25 km/h, reaching a top speed of 111 km/h.
As a result, the driver of the electric scooter received a fine of 500 euros and the VMP was transferred to the municipal depot as it represented a serious risk to road safety and did not comply with established regulations.
