I have titled this photograph captured in L’Escala as The Adoration of the Sun. I have captured it for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia when seeing these poppies as if bowing before the king sun, as if it were a diamond within this golden sky and sea .

This is the color that the patina of the dust in suspension leaves us. And it is that we are living the last few days with another very perceptible episode of calima.

The haze is a meteorological phenomenon consisting of the presence in the atmosphere of very small particles of dust, ash, clay or sand in suspension. In this case, Saharan dust.

The haze has also settled on the Alt Empordà coast, where it is noted in this image in L’Escala, one of the main tourist centers on the Costa Brava.

The life cycle of the wild poppy, which has always been linked to agriculture, adapts to most cereal crops and blooms and blossoms before the crops are harvested.

The population center of L’Escala is made up of eight towns, among which Empúries, San Martí d’Empúries, Les Corts and Camps dels Pilans stand out.
