The PP of Xàbia has announced this afternoon that it has obtained sufficient support from Ciudadanos por Jávea and Vox to become, next Saturday, with the mayoralty of the city in favor of the popular Rosa Cardona, who will take over from the socialist José Chulvi after three terms in a row.
The PSPV-PSOE had added 9 councilors, for 8 from the PP, two from Ciudadanos por Jávea and one from Vox and another from Acord per Guanyar in a corporation with 21 seats.
In a statement, the popular of Xàbia have reported the agreements signed with the two parties “regulate the framework of action to manage and plan, from transparency and participation, the Xàbia City Council”.
According to Cardona, the agreed documents “will serve as the basis to provide opportunities to undertake and promote all sectors of the local economy, addressing housing needs and the projects necessary to improve the services and facilities of Xàbia.”
Among the objectives of the future government team are “transparent management and recovering citizen participation, social policies, protection of children, adolescents, health and mental health as basic pillars, progress in education, professional training and opportunities for youth and promotion of entrepreneurship, employment and revitalization of all sectors”.
The agreed document adds as purposes of the new municipal government “more security in the streets and improvement of Citizen Attention that reaches the three urban centers, a quality and sustainable tourism with our environment, adapting the transport and mobility of Xàbia to the current needs and execute infrastructures to be more sustainable and efficient and sustainable urbanism towards a Compact City model, which meets the housing needs for young people and families, as well as sports facilities, schools and other services”
Another of the negotiations that has been closed today is that of Crevillent, where the Popular Party and Vox have also reached an agreement that will make the popular Lourdes Aznar the first female mayor in the town’s history. PP sources point out that the content of the pact and the distribution of councilors will be announced tomorrow, Thursday.
