Agents of the National Police have arrested in Mallorca a member of the terrorist organization Sendero Luminoso who was absconding from the Peruvian authorities and had an International Arrest Warrant for Extradition for the crime of terrorism, according to the police itself in a statement.
The investigators learned a few days ago that this fugitive accused of terrorism was in Mallorca, so they opened an investigation to determine where he was on the island. The agents intervened upon learning of the presence of this person, who was wanted by the Peruvian authorities as they had an Extradition Arrest Order in force.
The information reached the General Information Commissioner’s Office, which was informed that the fugitive was on the island. In this way, a police device was established by agents from the Provincial Information Brigade, managing to locate the man in an inland town in Mallorca.
The Police point out that, after his identification, it was found that the escapee was a member of the terrorist organization Sendero Luminoso, and that an International Detention Order for Extradition was against him, for which he was detained and transferred to the Group. of International Crime and Organized Crime of the National Police for the processing of the proceedings. The arrest took place on January 30 and a day later he was placed at the disposal of the Central Investigative Court number Five of the National Court.
