Today I would like to show in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos some images taken in l’Ametlla del Vallès, in the Vallès Oriental region, around one of the quintessential farmhouses in this town: Can Plandolit.
In the photographs I also show the surroundings, with the extensive fields, a small stream and several paths that connect with different Vallesan towns. For this reason, we will find signs indicating the routes and distances to travel.
Here, the traffic of hikers is notable, as it is a perfect environment to unwind after a long day. And Can Plandolit is a farmhouse of great beauty and uniqueness.
As detailed in the Cultural Heritage Maps of the Barcelona Provincial Council, “its uniqueness, beauty and majesty lies in the complex system that formed the farmhouse with its social and natural environment.”
Integrated “perfectly in the site where it was built”, this farmhouse is considered “a paradigm of social sustainability due to the family and generational concentration that occurred in these spaces, rich complexes and often not very intimate.” Now, in this case, architecturally, “its fortified patio stands out, giving it a secluded air.”
