Mossos d’Esquadra agents have denounced three men this week for stealing olives from two farms in Les Garrigues.
The first robbery occurred at noon last Sunday. A man stole some sacks of olives from a farm in Els Torms and upon seeing that he had been surprised, he fled the scene in a van, according to the Mossos d’Esquadra.
Soon after, a police patrol located, in Granyena de les Garrigues, a van that fully matched the one involved in the theft.
After locating and identifying the driver, the agents criminally reported him as the alleged perpetrator of the theft, recovered the sacks of olives and returned them to the owner.
The second happened on Wednesday at noon in an olive farm in Vinaixa. A Mossos patrol, which was doing rural patrol to prevent theft on agricultural farms, surprised two men who were harvesting olives without the owner’s permission.
The agents verified that inside a vehicle near the farm, owned by one of the two men who were picking the olives, there were several bags of olives, which led to the criminal complaint against the two and the confiscation of the olives. , which were later returned to their owner.
The investigation opened by the Mossos d’Esquadra has made it possible to find out that, allegedly, the stolen olives were later sold to a mill in Les Borges Blanques.
