The man who was found this Sunday after being swept away by an avalanche and being half buried by snow in Queralbs (Girona) has died, as confirmed by the hiking center of which he was a part, the CEM Cerdanyola. The club has explained through social networks that the victim is its treasurer.

Some hikers located the victim in a snow channel on the Camí dels Enginyers, next to the Coma de Vaca shelter (2,010 meters).

Two helicopters with members of the special actions group (GRAE) of the Fire Brigade, the canine unit, the Mossos mountain unit and SEM traveled to the scene and stabilized the trapped person. He was taken to Bellvitge hospital with severe hypothermia.
