The man barricaded with a gun in Lloret surrenders to the Mossos

The Mossos d’Esquadra, after hours of mediation, have managed to get the man who had been barricaded since this morning with a shotgun to avoid being evicted in a home in Lloret de Mar, to peacefully leave the home.

He did it alone, without a firearm, and was arrested. The events occurred on Alzines street number 3, towards Tossa de Mar, between the Serra Brava and La Riviera urbanizations.

When the Mossos d’Esquadra went to the home to execute the court order, the man, about 70 years old and of Swiss nationality, refused to leave the home.

According to the Mossos d’Esquadra, he received the agents with a long weapon, whom he threatened and told them that he did not intend to leave. The man was alone in the house.

Members of the Mossos mediation group gathered at the scene of the events and members of the Special Intervention Group (GEI) also traveled. Finally, the mediation, in which a neighbor has also collaborated, has borne fruit and the man has relented.

The Lloret de Mar City Council points out that the man had never gone to the Consistory’s social services. According to neighbors, he had lived in this house for years. It is unknown, for now, if the house had passed into the hands of a bank.
