Agents of the Rapid Support and Intervention Unit (USIR) of the Local Police of Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelonès Nord) managed to rescue last night a person who was in the Besòs River and who requested help after getting into the river at the height of the Pont del Molinet.
After being intercepted by the agents, the individual was immediately treated by the Emergency Medical Services (SEM). After a first medical evaluation, it was determined that the individual was suffering from serious intoxication due to the consumption of narcotic substances, and the medical staff decided to transfer that person to the Hospital del Espíritu Santo.
The quick intervention of the agents and the medical team was crucial to guarantee the safety of the individual involved in this emergency situation.
