The Central Electoral Board (JEC) has approved this Thursday an instruction that requires all voters who vote by mail to identify themselves with the DNI or a similar document at the time of sending the ballot and casting the vote.

After the controversy aroused by the alleged fraud of postal votes in Melilla, the JEC has approved this resolution with a view to the upcoming elections on July 23 and has indicated that if it is not possible to go in person to deliver the documentation, an authorization must be granted. Authorization to be delivered by another person, which must be signed by the voter and accompanied by a photocopy of their ID or similar document.
