This Friday, the Government Delegation in Madrid gave its authorization to the mascletà scheduled for next Sunday in Madrid Río, after receiving all the information it requested from the City Council in recent days, regarding the pyrotechnic show.
The confirmation came just ten minutes after the vice mayor of Madrid, Inma Sanz, appeared at a press conference and pointed out that the “file” was “perfectly done” and that everything was an “artificial controversy”, although at that time there was no authorization.
He also reiterated the criticism towards the Madrid left for the fireworks show that Manuela Carmena’s government held in 2016 on the Toledo Bridge, over the Manzanares River. He also added that the mobility and security plans are ready and that once there is confirmation the details will be shared.
The text of the Government Delegation in Madrid says that “it only intervenes in the authorization for the use of explosives and citizen security”, so “the authorization of the pyrotechnic show by the Government Delegation does not exempt the need for other authorizations, such as environmental, heritage, municipal ordinances, etc.”.
