The Ministry of Environment, Water, Infrastructure and Territory has agreed to provisionally remove the conservative director of the Desert de les Palmes Natural Park from his duties, while the criminal judicial procedure opened for the death of ten donkeys is resolved.
The decision is adopted after the order of the Court of Instruction of Castellón to initiate an abbreviated procedure, issued in the process that was opened based on a complaint for the death of these animals.
The events occurred in September 2021 and during the first week of October the Conselleria, governed at that time by the Botanical, learned that the project of donkey specimens as a measure to prevent fires in the forest mass was not working and then opened an investigation to clarify the facts.
The current Ministry, in the hands of the PP, advocates absolute respect for the presumption of innocence of the official.
