The Catalan public knows the case of the Urban Police crime by heart after Crims dedicated a special four-episode monograph to it, which gathered an average of 448,000 viewers in its live broadcast and a screen share of over 20%. And, those who prefer a fictional series based on real events rather than a documentary series, have a date on Netflix: on September 8, El cuerpo en llamas premieres on the platform, the project that will tell about the murder of Pedro Rodríguez.
Úrsula Coberó and Quim Gutiérrez are Rosa Peral and Albert López, two agents of the Urban Police who became the main murder suspects when the charred body of Pedro Rodríguez was found in the trunk of a car found in the Foix reservoir. The investigation served to reveal toxic relationships in the police force, sexual revenge and the violence of the agents involved in the case.
The body on fire has Laura Sarmiento as a scriptwriter, who in 2022 offered one of the most outstanding Spanish series with Intimacy, the drama that delved into the problem of the violation of women’s privacy. Jorge Torregrossa, who was in charge of transmitting the drama of the story in a Bilbao that is as industrial as it is modern, will work in tandem with her in charge of directing.
The cast is completed by José Manuel Poga, who coincided with Corberó in Money Heist, as well as Isak Férriz (Cites, Fair) and Eva Llorach (Who will sing to you). The announcement of the release date has been accompanied by a first teaser:
