Aquivabarreig of the Riera Major with the Riera de Espinelves. To the right of the image in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we see the Riera Major with the most earthy water and to the left the tributary Riera de Espinelves.
The Riera Major rises in the Montseny within the territory of Viladrau, crosses the Guilleries passing through the territories of Sant Sadurnà d’Osormort and Vilanova de Sau, where it flows into the Ter river below the Sau swamp.
The term aguabarreig comes from the word of Catalan origin that designates the mixture of waters in the place where two or more currents of water meet and form a single one.
This puddle is located in Sant Sadurnà d’Osormort, a church that we see reflected in a puddle after the rain in the second photo.
The parish church of Sant Sadurnà d’Osormort is Romanesque and built in the 11th century.
