The Barcelona Beach Festival opens its doors at 3:00 p.m. after an agreement

The Barcelona Beach Festival will finally be held this Saturday, as confirmed exclusively by La Vanguardia. The differences between the Sant Adrià del Besòs City Council and Bombers have been resolved and the one-day summer festival may take place after an online team meeting between representatives of the Generalitat, led by Joan Delort, and the mayor of Sant Adria, Filo Canete.

Cañete confirmed this information shortly after on Xavi Bundó’s Via Lliure program, on Rac 1, where he explained that “although the license has not materialized yet, an agreement has been reached (…) Considering that there is a confluence of the facts and parameters of 2019, Bombers agrees to ratify its report based on that year and send that ratification to us in order to carry out this license”.

The mayor has also added that the promoter of the festival will sign a declaration of responsibility ensuring that this Saturday’s event will meet the same conditions as in 2019. Therefore, when asked by the journalist who would be responsible in the event that something happens, Cañete assures that “I understand that the promoter of the festival would be responsible”.

The organizers, for their part, have also announced the good news to the attendees through their social networks and have recalled that from 3:00 p.m. this afternoon they will open doors.

The alarms sounded on Friday after the consistory rejected the activity license for the event 24 hours before its celebration, since it lacked the mandatory report from the General Directorate of Prevention, Fire Extinction and Rescue of the Generalitat, which carries out Bombers . Faced with this scenario, the organizers announced a lawsuit against the mayor of the municipality and assured that they would not give up the celebration, which will finally take place from 4:00 p.m. to 5:50 a.m. on the Fòrum beach and the Parc of the Pau.

The attendees had been waiting for the news for hours because, despite the give and take between the administrations, the possibility that this great electronic music festival could take place at the last minute, attended by fans from different parts, was never ruled out. of the world. In fact, at no time did ticket sales stop and the mayor herself assured first thing in the morning in an interview on the program Via Lliure, by Rac1, that “it is not outright ruled out that the festival be held. Until the last moment we will try to save him. There is will, apart from the statements that I have been able to make from a future projection point of view”.

Sources from the Ministry of the Interior had alerted Cañete that canceling the music festival in this way could generate a problem of public order. For this reason, the mayor contacted the Mossos, the Port of Barcelona and the Urban Guard of the Catalan capital yesterday to explain the situation, because “public disorders can occur and the Sant Adrià Local Police do not have the capacity to deal with them not even if he assigned all his agents”.

In its seventh edition, the poster is full of world DJs, such as Marshmello or Armin Van Buuren. There was a desire because the coronavirus had forced the cancellation of the last two editions and the fans had not met since 2019. Three days ago, Live Nation confirmed 25,000 tickets sold, waiting to be around or even exceed 30,000.

“It is a joy to return again to celebrate life with friends, with family. To feel the illusion again, the desire to celebrate and, above all, because this year we have a very special seventh edition in which Marshmello will finally come, whom we have been after for a long time. Everybody likes it. He is the most important DJ in the world right now ”, Pino Sagliocco, director of the BBF and president of the promoter Live Nation, told this newspaper a few days ago, before the commotion of the last few hours.

In addition to the American producer and DJ of future bass, electronic and electrohouse Marshmello, who will offer his only performance in Spain in Barcelona, ??the event will bring together a luxury line-up that had already planned to perform at last year’s edition and is full of most prominent names within the genre.
