The Minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid, Jorge Rodrigo, stated this Tuesday that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, “is wrong again” with the announcement of the elimination of the ‘Golden Visa’, because “ It is sending a negative message to all investors, not only for Madrid, but also for Spain.
This was stated during an interview with Servimedia, where he estimated that the impact of this measure in the Community of Madrid “is minimal” and advocated for “continuing to apply the regional government’s policies on housing, which is to create supply and do so at affordable price”.
The counselor highlighted that this is what the Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso is doing by executing the Vive Plan and the Regional Housing Pact in the region, which they have committed to applying in the next two years.
“We have to build housing, we have to generate supply and, above all, do it in an affordable way.” For this reason, he stressed, “I think that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in this case, is wrong again,” because he “sends the wrong message to all investors and I think that is not the way to go.”
