RTVE is once again in the spotlight. This weekend the popular Benidorm Fest took place, a festival aimed at selecting our country’s representative in Eurovision. The first finalist to perform was María Peláe, while Almácor was in charge of closing the gala. Of course, with controversy included.
The candidate came out on stage with his song Brillos Platino, a declaration of love that would become one of the biggest controversies of the night. The reason? A technical failure. At the end of the performance, part of the fireworks were not activated, thus impoverishing the staging.
The screens with the scenery also failed, causing the audience to erupt into boos, even asking for the man from Villena to perform again. Faced with this fiasco, the representative of Almácor is clear: Spanish Radio Television (RTVE) has boycotted its staging.
Josito Rude Boy, member of the Almácor team, has denounced via social media the “boycott” suffered by the artist from Villena (Alicante) during his performance this Saturday at the final of Benidorm Fest 2024.
“Today’s boycott, shameful! No sparks or visuals. It has been very hard,” said Josito. Given the commotion generated on the networks, the tweet was deleted shortly after, asking the RTVE team for a repeat of the performance: “Let us perform again!” He noted on the networks.
Faced with these harsh accusations, Ruth Lorenzo, speaker of the organization, has chosen to paralyze the festival to apologize: “We apologize, let’s hope it doesn’t penalize. We are all with you, you are a king,” said Lorenzo, pointing to a “technical problem.” on the screens during the performance.
Finally, at the press conference after the Benidorm Fest 2024 Final, María Eizaguirre said the following: “There was no question of repeating the performance.
