The new Student Portal is presented as a more modern website adapted to mobile devices. Students will find all the latest news, scholarship information and access to services, among others. The big news is the creation of the new SocUB personal space, which comes with a renewed, more intuitive design and new personalized functionalities. It can be accessed both through the mobile application and the web version, which now becomes the students’ intranet.
The vice-rector for Students and University Life, Marta Ferrer, highlights that the development of the new student portal and the accompanying intranet are part of the plan for digitalization and personalization of services and attention to students: «The main objective is, for on the one hand, to provide a single access point to all the information that the student needs and, on the other, to allow the personalization of this information, so that it adjusts to the needs and characteristics of each user.
Along these lines, one of the functionalities incorporated into the student’s new personal space is the generation of recommendations for courses and other activities, based on the information contained in the student’s resume. With these changes, we want to provide students with, above all, information that may be of interest and useful to them. In the same way, new functionalities have been incorporated to easily consult the file and the academic guide, and also UB Contacts, where users can find their representatives or other positions that they need to contact.
These functionalities have been developed with funding from the European Union, within the framework of the subsidy for the modernization and digitalization of the Spanish university system (UniDigital), linked to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU.
