The followers of the Italian singer Laura Pausini lived a great nightmare this past Monday in Paris. The artist is currently immersed in her concert tour, with which she is visiting many cities in Europe. On January 27 and 29, the Primavera Anticipada performer visited Madrid and Barcelona to offer two unique concerts lasting almost three hours and in which she performed many of her greatest hits.
After passing through Brussels and Lisbon, the singer visited the French capital this past Monday, February 12. But those attending this concert had to face a totally unexpected situation. As revealed by the AFP agency this Tuesday, the French authorities had arrested a man who, with a semi-automatic weapon, began shooting in the vicinity of the venue.
The event took place around 8:00 p.m. on Monday in the Accor Arena auditorium, located on the Bercy boulevard, in Paris. According to police sources, the suspect used a 7.65 mm caliber pistol against the glass of a part of the premises, shooting up to 17 times. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but officers found 11 bullet casings on the ground.
The man initially appeared at the entrance to the VIP area of ??the auditorium, but the guards guarding the entrance prohibited him from entering. However, this fact caused the man to go to one of the emergency doors of the Accor Arena to open fire on one of the windows.
Furthermore, according to the aforementioned media, this man was also carrying a knife and a screwdriver, but the French authorities managed to subdue him, despite the fact that he had tried to threaten several agents with his firearm. According to police sources, the man had repeatedly expressed his support for the farmers’ protests and that his mission was to “change the world.” At this time, the event remains under police investigation.
