On February 3, Sara Carbonero turned 40 years old. On the occasion of such a special anniversary, the journalist wanted to celebrate it in style; even more so after the delicate health episodes that she has had to experience in recent times. A celebration of her life, in which she was accompanied by her family, her friends, her current partner, Nacho Taboada, and even her ex-husband, Iker Casillas.

A party that took place in the La Bulería room, located in the popular Madrid neighborhood of El Viso and that brought together such well-known faces as Paula Echevarría and Miguel Torres, Emi Huelva, Raquel Perera, La Flaka, Esther Cañadas or her inseparable “comadre “, journalist Isabel Jiménez.

A meeting in which nothing was missing, with good music – including a private concert by Vanesa Martín – and a huge red fruit cake; which was crowned with the emotional speech offered by the protagonist of the event.

“Thank you very much to all the people who are here because there is no one who has not come, everyone said yes and then, you all have collaborated for me to get here, especially since five years ago, when I promised myself that “If this day came it was going to be almost a wedding,” the journalist began, excitedly.

Sara Carbonero underwent surgery in May 2019 for ovarian cancer that was detected after a regular gynecological examination. News that came to light just three weeks after Iker Casillas, her then husband, suffered a heart attack. The journalist suffered another small health scare in November 2022, when after another medical check-up she had to undergo emergency surgery at the prestigious University Clinic of Navarra.

After several years of health problems, the journalist wanted to celebrate turning 40 years old. “Today is a day to enjoy, when I thought about this party more than for me it was for you, to return part of the love and drive, of every word of encouragement,” she assured those present. “I think we should celebrate life because it is constantly teaching us that we should not take anything for granted, it is a miracle to wake up every day.”

Among all those present, the presenter wanted to give prominence to her children, Martín (10) and Lucas (7). “I wanted to thank these two treasures that I have here, who are the strength of every day, the strength of mom.” The children, born as a result of her relationship with former soccer player Iker Casillas, accompanied her mother on her big day. With their navy blue suits, they captured all eyes.

He also had some very special words for Emi Huelva, sister of his great friend Elena Huelva, who died in January 2023 due to Ewing sarcoma. “As a person who is here says, life is not measured in time but in experiences, experiences and with all the people who are here I have had the best experiences of my life,” said the presenter.

“I hope we have many more years to celebrate and toast. I only have one word, which is gratitude,” he concluded.
