The Department of Health of the Generalitat has begun work to expand the Primary Care Center (CAP) in Montgat (Maresme), an action that will allow more consultations and auxiliary spaces for better care for citizens.

The works are carried out in a paved area behind the CAP, which until now was used as a car park for professionals. The car park open to users, at the front, will continue to be available. The assistance activity of the center, managed by Badalona Serveis Asistencials, will also continue to be provided as normal.

Specifically, the expansion of the CAP Montgat-Dr. Jardí will consist of four new consultations that in principle will receive visits from paediatrics, traumatology and psychology. There will also be two additional spaces (health education classroom and meeting room), separated with a mobile wall to make them more versatile. With this action, it will be possible to offer the group and community activity to the users with better quality.

The new area can be accessed from inside the CAP or, in the event of special needs such as vaccination campaigns, directly from the street, guaranteeing accessibility for people with reduced mobility at all times.

The works will mean an investment of €613,263.45, financed by the Catalan Health Service with European Regional Development Funds. They are scheduled to finish by the end of the year.
