Adif has repaired Wednesday morning the catenary fault in the railway section between Torelló and Manlleu, which was interrupted yesterday afternoon when a train from the Rodalies R3 line was left on the track carrying a hundred passengers who were evacuated by the Generalitat fire brigade.
The line has finally recovered normal service in the early afternoon, which forced the bus service between the Vic and Torelló stations to continue throughout the morning. The “progressive” restored circulation announced by Renfe this morning has been cut short by a problem when towing the damaged train, in the middle of the track, near the Torelló station.
Users have shown their outrage over the unresolved issues. “The train has failed, it always fails”, complained a passenger who had to go to Puigcerdà to go to work and who could not arrive on time. Francisco also witnessed the fire in the Manlleu catenary a month ago that scared the people who were traveling on the train. “Something has to be done, or do we have to wait for a misfortune to happen?” he wondered.
The incident on Tuesday occurred coinciding with a strong storm that fell in the area and that led the Firefighters to carry out various interventions, including assistance to passengers to evacuate the train, for which they sent four crews.
Another train was also affected, but this one stopped at the same Torelló station, so the intervention of the Fire Department was not necessary to evacuate the passengers.
