In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can contemplate the contrast of the red vineyards, the green forest and the blue sky, in Aiguaviva, a small town in the municipality of Montmell located in the extreme north of the Baix Penedès.

Aiguaviva is located at the eastern end of the Sierra de la Torre del Milà and in the middle of the Pla de Manlleu, in the basin of the Riera de Marmellar.

It is left along the Sant Jaume dels Domenys road in Plan de Manlleu. It is one of the most beautiful places in Montmell, as you can see in the photograph.

The name Aiguaviva comes from the existence of the Font Major and the Font del Lleó, which in times past allowed the operation of the flour mill that had already existed since the Middle Ages.

The dominant point of Aiguaviva is the Great House. In old documents, a “castle and stable” is assigned to this place.
