The acting head of the Investigative Court number 2 of Orihuela has decreed this Saturday the entry into provisional prison, communicated and without bail of the 82-year-old Norwegian man arrested for allegedly killing his partner, a 76-year-old British woman, in a house in the same Alicante municipality.
The case is initially opened for a crime of homicide, without prejudice to further classification, sources from the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community have indicated, who have highlighted that there were no previous complaints within the couple.
The judge has also agreed to recuse herself in favor of the Orihuela Violence Against Women Court, which already had proceedings opened for these events and will continue with the investigation.
If this crime and the one allegedly committed in Castellón known this Friday are confirmed, there would be five women murdered by their partners or ex-partners so far this year in the Valencian Community and a total of 46 in Spain.
The Government delegate in the Community, Pilar Bernabé, explained this Friday that the victim had injuries that could correspond to an attack with a knife and maintained that when the agents arrived the detained man was in the house.
