New movement that adds more pressure to the municipal government of socialist Jaume Collboni to respond to a long-standing neighborhood demand: the pending coverage of the Mig patrol.
In an extraordinary session of the Les Corts district council held yesterday, a proposal launched by the group Junts per Catalunya-Trias per Barcelona was approved to begin studies to cover this infrastructure between Mejía Lequerica street and Prat square. of the Riba. The initiative went ahead with the votes of the party led by Trias, PP, BComú and the abstentions of the PSC and ERC.
In the approved petition, the municipal government was urged to begin technical and economic feasibility studies this year in the aforementioned section so that an item is included in the 2024 budgets. The creation of a monitoring commission was also requested. this project with the presence of neighborhood entities and political parties, in addition to installing noise and atmospheric pollution meters.
“The coverage of the Mig ring road between Mejía Lequerica and Prat de la Riba square was a work planned in the original coverage project, but it was unjustifiably stopped in reaching Mejía Lequerica 20 years ago,” said TriasxBCN spokesman Ivan Ivan Condés. “This coverage has been demanded over the last 20 years by the neighbors, now organized around a platform, neighbors who have mobilized and collected more than 1,800 signatures for the coverage,” added Condés.
This initiative adds to the PP proposal approved in the last municipal plenary session to prepare the feasibility project to cover this section of the Mig ring road. A proposal that then also had the abstentions of the PSC and ERC, in addition to BComú.
