The Podemos State Guarantees Commission has resolved the file opened to the 13 former members of the management and executive of Podem Catalunya, who defended “unity” with Sumar in June, and has agreed for them to be suspended for 9 months from militancy and 4 years without being able to run for public or organic party positions.

As reported by El Periódico this Friday and sources from the purple formation have confirmed to Europa Press, the notification came to them “a few days ago”, and they have detailed that the suspension of militancy will count from the date on which the file was initiated by Podem.

These 13 people resigned on November 14 after learning that they had been charged for defending “unity” with Sumar in June, at which time there was a debate about whether or not Podemos would join the project led by Yolanda Díaz.

This communication comes in the middle of the process of primaries for the Citizen Assembly – which will end on February 2 – and primaries at the state level for the European elections, so this sanction will prevent them from running in the European, Catalan, municipal and general elections. of 2027.

The same sources have indicated that one of the 13 has left the party, and they have specified that they will not ask those who currently occupy one and were chosen as representatives of Podem to leave public positions.

This is the case of the deputy in the Parliament Yolanda López, and this group also includes the former deputy in the Catalan Chamber and councilor of Molins de Rei (Barcelona) Lucas Ferro.
