Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Denver After Tire Failure
DENVER (KDVR) — A Southwest flight experienced a frightening incident when it had to make an emergency landing at Denver International Airport due to a tire failure during takeoff. Southwest Flight 225, a Boeing 737-700 en route to Phoenix Sky Harbor International, had to return to Denver after the pilot declared an emergency on Monday evening.
According to FlightAware data, the plane departed from DIA at 6:31 p.m. on Monday, but shortly after takeoff, one of the tires failed, prompting the emergency landing. The aircraft safely landed back at Denver International Airport at 7:12 p.m.
Despite the unexpected turn of events, Southwest assured that the landing was smooth and the plane taxied off the runway without incident. Passengers were promptly accommodated on another aircraft for their journey to Phoenix, departing from DIA at 10:26 p.m. and arriving in Arizona at 11:07 p.m., nearly four hours later than scheduled.
