The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano GarcÃa Page, and the acting president of Aragón, Javier Lambán, will not finally go to the Federal Committee of the PSOE this Saturday due to the discomfort created with the lists for the general elections, after Ferraz changed some applications.
Sources close to Page and Lambán have confirmed to EFE that for this reason they will not attend the meeting of the Federal Committee of the PSOE called this Saturday in Ferraz to ratify the party lists for Congress and the Senate and approve the electoral program. Thus they plant the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.
“The socialists of Zaragoza and Teruel democratically prepared some magnificent candidacies for Congress and the Senate. I am very sorry that the citizens of Teruel and Zaragoza will not have the opportunity to vote for them,” Lambán wrote on his Twitter account.
In the case of Aragon, the general secretaries of Zaragoza and Teruel, Juan Antonio Sánchez Quero and Mayte Pérez, respectively, will not attend the Federal Committee, respectively, “as a sign of disagreement with the changes made in the candidacies for Congress and the Senate of both provinces.” Sources from the Lambán environment have pointed out to EFE.
“The modifications in the electoral lists caused yesterday the resignation of 15 members en bloc of the candidacy for Zaragoza both to Congress and to the Senate. The PSOE Aragón considers that the final composition of the lists has hardly anything to do with the proposals of the committees and, therefore, with the opinion of the militants”, these sources have added.
In the case of the Castilian-Manchego socialists, the discontent occurred after the proposal of the Federal Commission of Lists, which met on Friday, to replace the number one by the province of Toledo in Congress, the regional secretary of Organization, Sergio Gutiérrez, by the acting mayoress of Toledo, Milagros Tolón.
However, the change will not materialize in the end, so Tolón will be number two, while Sergio Gutiérrez will lead the candidacy, sources from Ferraz confirmed to EFE.
The process of preparing the lists for 23J began this week with the suggestions made by the socialist groups.
Subsequently, the candidacies were approved in a specific order in the respective provincial or regional committees, and from there they went to the direction of Ferraz, specifically to the Federal List Commission on Friday and this Saturday to the Federal Committee for ratification.
The PSOE statutes grant Ferraz the power to introduce names other than those received.
