Hazelnut cream, jam, cocoa – most of us know that these popular ingredients for a delicious breakfast contain a lot of calories and sugar. Nevertheless, we still like to treat ourselves to these treats as long as we enjoy them in moderation. But there is something else that packs a punch in calories and especially sugar – and that many people don’t even know about.

Adequate fluid intake during the day is extremely important. However, drinking only water can also get boring. Lemonade, cola, smoothies or energy drinks are the next option for many. However, in terms of nutrients, they are not really convincing. “HEIDELBERG24” has compiled a list of the unhealthiest drinks based on nutrient content, studies and nutritional guides. And these are the five losers:

Why are these drinks so unhealthy? There are up to 60 grams of sugar in 500 milliliters, which is the equivalent of 20 sugar cubes. This means that the recommended daily sugar intake is exceeded by 10 grams, and that’s just from one drink.

Do you think that a smoothie is good for your body? Not if you buy one. In most cases, huge amounts of sugar are added to them, so that they contain up to 75 grams per 0.5 litre. They often also contain flavour enhancers or colourings. Added to this is the fruit sugar content. It is better to make the smoothie yourself and only use fruit. You can then dilute it with plant-based milk or water.

Besides water, you have other options for drinking something tasty. For example, you can use unsweetened tea or flavor your water with fruit. You may have also heard of Air Up, which allows you to use scented attachments to influence the taste while you are actually drinking water. Sugar-free syrups are also a great option.
