This tragic weekend leaves two fatalities and one injured in two accidents that occurred in Galician waters. This morning it was learned that the woman who had been rescued from the sea on Os Castros beach, in the Lugo municipality of Ribadeo, last Friday, has died at the A Mariña Hospital, as confirmed by Health sources.
In the second incident, which occurred this Saturday, one person died and another was injured when the boat with which they were sailing collided with a raft in Vilanova de Arousa (Pontevedra) this Saturday.
The 112 was made aware of what happened at 7:10 p.m. through an alert from one of those involved in the accident and immediately reported the situation to the Galician Coast Guard Service and Maritime Rescue personnel.
The emergency managers required the intervention of the 061 professionals, who sent an ambulance to the docks, in addition to the Local Police, the Civil Guard, the Salnés Fire Brigade and also the local Civil Protection personnel.
Finally, the intervention teams confirmed to 112 that one of the people died and the other was taken by ambulance to the Hospital do Salnés.
After 6:00 p.m. this Friday, a woman was rescued by several bathers on Os Castros beach in the municipality of Ribadeo. As reported by 112, already on the sand, after carrying out resuscitation maneuvers, the health services evacuated her to the reference hospital, just as the Ribadeo Civil Protection Volunteer Group transferred to 112 Galicia.
The personnel of 112 reported the events to Salvamento Marítimo, which mobilized the Pesca II helicopter, from the Galician Coast Guard Service, and the Salvamar Alioth.
By land, from 112 Galicia, the intervention of the Galician Health Emergencies-061, the Local Police, the Civil Guard and the Ribadeo and Barreiros Civil Protection Volunteer Groups was required.
Despite the efforts, the woman has died at the Hospital de A Mariña, as confirmed by sources from Sanidade this Sunday.
