Yesterday, five Madrid Firefighters extinguished a fire that affected a building located on Ruidera Street in the Puente de Vallecas district and left nine people with minor poisoning due to smoke inhalation, five of them municipal police officers, according to reports. Madrid Emergencies.

Specifically, a Firefighters spokesperson explained that the flames apparently started in the arcades of the building, in an area of ??accumulated garbage, after which it leaked through the metal closures of a premises on the ground floor. and has affected the projected polyurethane coating of the roofs, generating an intense cloud of smoke that has spread to the upper floors.

The flames have affected two portals and have forced several neighbors to confine themselves to their homes to avoid poisoning, while others had already vacated the property upon the arrival of the Firefighters.

Once the fire was put out and its spread stopped, the force’s troops entered to check the homes and confirm that there were no serious victims. Afterwards, the place was ventilated and residents who had to leave their homes were relocated.

For its part, Samur-Civil Protection has confirmed the care for mild poisoning of nine people, five of them municipal police officers and four residents of the property, all of whom have been discharged at the scene.
