The National Police, in collaboration with the Brazilian authorities, has arrested nine people in Valencia and Salamanca involved in the prostitution of women who were deceived into the territory, since they were told that they were going to work as cleaning staff. However, once on Spanish soil, the victims were forced into prostitution to pay the supposed debt they had incurred for the trip from their country of origin.
As reported by the Police on Wednesday, the operation, in which six women have been released, began after a call to the anti-human trafficking telephone number from a woman from Verín (Orense). The woman was captured in Colombia and later sexually exploited along with other women in dating apartments.
Those arrested sexually exploited them 24 hours a day without being able to reject any client or rest, they also had to pay the rent, food and even water and without any type of health control or contraceptive protection if the client demanded it. . In addition, they exercised strict control over the victims through a circuit of video surveillance cameras established in the brothel.
The pimps took advantage of the victims’ religious beliefs, through rituals, altars and offerings, as can be seen in the video; thus achieving absolute loyalty to the heads of the organization. Once all the information was gathered, six members of the criminal organization were arrested.
The operation culminated thanks to a simultaneous and coordinated device with different provinces in which nine people were arrested in the towns of Valencia (two), Benidorm (four), and Salamanca (three), completely dismantling the criminal organization.
