Àngel Llàcer suffered a difficult last week in terms of health. Last Wednesday the presenter announced on El matí de Catalunya Ràdio that he had been admitted to hospital at the Ruber Clinic in Madrid. The reason for his temporary absence was a serious infection, caused by shigella bacterial poisoning, which he suffered during his vacation in Vietnam last February. However, that situation has now been resolved.

Again on the radio program hosted by Ricard Ustrell, the Barcelonan officially confirmed his discharge from hospital. He was also able to explain what happened behind the scenes once he was aware of the infection. Although the poisoning was treated with antibiotics in Vietnam, the bacteria continued in his body, and he did not manifest itself until he returned to Madrid, during a performance of The Producers. He needed an enema for his blocked intestine and his condition worsened.

“I had two teams: the surgeons and the internal medicine team, because they saw that I had a lot of damage. I started to have a fever and such… On Monday and Tuesday I had seven doctors around me, as if to say ‘We don’t know what this boy has.’ That is, until they discovered that he had the bacteria. I’ve been very screwed, yes. I could have died? Yes. All of Spain found out that he was dying. Now I’m great. I have had a very bad time,” he explained.

On a professional level, the project that was most affected by the general public was his participation in Your face sounds to me. The communicator has been working for the program presented by Manel Fuentes since 2011, mainly in a jury role and occasionally as a presenter. VerTele was in charge of announcing who would be in charge of replacing him during the next two galas, one of them already recorded: Sílvia Abril.

Abril will take the other side of the stage for the first time since her debut, where she finished in seventh position. She was also a recurring guest in several specials, such as the New Year’s concert in 2019. For the moment, the Catalan already replaced Llàcer on April 16 for the fifth gala of this season. The evolution of her partner in the coming days will determine whether she should remain in her position.

The Mataró native recently explained that she felt at her best. “It’s what makes me happiest. I am very happy, because I am working on two wonderful projects that are giving me a lot of satisfaction and joy. Finally, women at this age are ceasing to be invisible, although there are many who are still having a hard time. But things are starting to change little by little,” she commented in an interview for La Voz de Galicia.
