Another Christmas classic returns to Madrid. This is the Children’s and Youth Leisure Show, Juvenalia 2023, which starts today at Ifema until next January 7 in an edition that includes the incorporation of Producers of Smiles into the production and design of the event.
A 50,000 square meter space where visitors will find a wide range of activities ranging from traditional games and creative areas to science, circus, reading, sports, video games and music and where they can enjoy storytelling and exciting shows for for all tastes.
There will be two weeks in which Juvenalia will continue to consolidate itself as the meeting place for children and young people from 0 to 14 years old in a recreational-educational environment, “with pedagogical content, which promotes and contributes to intellectual, emotional and social development.” Admission costs 10 euros and the hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., except on December 25 and January 1, which will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The contents are structured around two pavilions: the Sports and Professions Pavilion, where the activities and exhibitions will take place, and the Smile Producers Pavilion, where different thematic spaces will be held.
In the first of them, as on previous occasions, there will be a space for the State Security Forces and Bodies, as well as Emergencies and Security of the Madrid City Council, with Municipal Police, Firefighters and Samur, and the Armed Forces such as the UME ( Military Emergency Unit), the Army and the Navy as a novelty.
In this framework, you will be able to observe and learn up close how the Police, Firefighters, Emergency teams and many other police equipment exhibitions and demonstrations by GEO, the UIP and TEDAX work. Also, discover training with guide dogs to search for people, participate in criminalistics activities focused on footprints, experiment with riot control material, learn how to react to a fire or feel like a real soldier among many other educational and exciting experiences.
There will also be room for the participation of prominent organizations, such as the Mapfre Foundation, the Madrid Fencing Club, the Madrid Tennis Federation, the Madrid Table Tennis Federation and the Atlético de Madrid and Getafe CF football clubs, among others.
This pavilion also offers visitors to participate in sports activities, such as soccer, fencing, tennis, table tennis, basketball, or new sports such as pickleball and jumping on Urban Planet’s trampolines, in addition to enjoying exciting surprises.
As for the Smile Producers Pavilion, in the Circus Area you can test skills and perform acrobatics, such as the Mini Trump circuit and other elements designed to perform somersaults and acrobatic carries, while in the juggling area, participants will have the opportunity to learn circus techniques with clubs, balls, diabolos or cariocas, among others.
You can also reconstruct the world with Lego bricks and enjoy gigantographs and sets built in life size. Likewise, Real Madrid will have a space where trophies will be displayed and the club’s history will be reviewed.
In the Madrid Metro space, in addition, through its Aulametro educational program, you will be able to participate in different recreational activities about the importance of the suburban from the historical, technological and in the field of sustainability point of view. La Factoría del Color is one of the outstanding experiences in this pavilion.
Likewise, there will be a Lexus City in Green space, in the Rainbow Observatory the gaming experience and understanding of the mechanics of color is multiplied with three CMYK Labyrinth, RGB Tunnel and Kaleidoscope proposals, and areas focused on board games, science, reading and crafts and gaming.
This year, in addition, Juvenalia will have the participation of Save The Children, the Fundación a la Par, which will show an exhibition of works of art that belong to its training project in painting and history carried out by people with intellectual disabilities, and the volunteering of Red Cross Youth.
Likewise, as a novelty on this occasion, there will be an ice skating rink inside and a stage where different surprises will happen during the day, with talks, circus, theater and music, as well as a picnic area with food trucks where you can enjoy of a varied gastronomic offer.
