The tenth gala of the Operación Triunfo 2023 contest broadcast on the Prime Video platform opened with a group performance in which the ‘triumphs’ performed the song We are young by the American group Fun.

The contestants’ performances started with the two nominees, Lucas and Chiara. Both faced the decision of the public, who, through the official application of the program, chose which contestant should choose to continue in the academy.

After Lucas’s performance with the song I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith, and Chiara’s with the song You Oughta Know by Alanis Morissette, voting was closed. Despite attempts to save the Mallorcan contestant, the viewers finally decided that Chiara would be the ninth expelled from the edition and saved Lucas with 67% of the votes.

After Dani Fernández’s performance as a guest artist, the three contestants with the most votes were announced to be chosen as ‘Favorite Nomad’ of the week. Among the most voted were Paul Thin, Ruslana and Naiara. With 42.5% of the votes, Paul won for the second time, which will allow him to enjoy an exclusive experience during the week, as reported by presenter Masi Rodríguez.

After the meeting of the jury made up of the singer Concha Buika, the producer Pablo Rouss and the journalist Cris Regatero, the contestants were able to find out what scores the jury gave them, and if they obtained a direct pass to the final. The jury not only evaluated the performance of the gala, but also based its verdict on the journey and evolution of each participant during the program.

The votes of the jury members placed Naiara in first place in the ranking with a total of 28.5 points, followed by Juanjo with 27 points. The Operación Triunfo team then became the first two finalists of the edition, the third finalist was chosen by the academy’s professors, Noemí Galera, Manu Guix, Abril Zamora and Mamen Márquez. The chosen one was again Paul Thin for “searching for his identity and defining himself as an artist,” as expressed by the teachers’ spokesperson, Noemí Galera.

The semifinal of Operación Triunfo 2023, which will be held on February 12, will examine the 4 contestants who were questioned. Ruslana, Bea, Martín and Lucas will have to face the jury’s evaluations for another week, which will save two of the contestants from elimination. For their part, the two contestants who have not been saved by the jury will once again be in the hands of the audience who will save one of them from expulsion.

The 3 saved in the semifinal will become one of the 6 finalists who will aspire to the prize of 100,000 euros in the final gala of the Prime Video program. As during the rest of the contest, it will be the public who will decide who will win the twelfth edition of Operación Triunfo.
