The Móstoles City Council has announced that the Department of Statistics has already started the procedure to “verify” whether the PP candidate for Mayor, Manuel Bautista, “lives effectively in the city or has committed legal fraud”. something that the Municipal Police will take care of.

Despite the fact that Bautista himself, who is also Deputy Minister of Education of the Community of Madrid, has denied this Wednesday that his registration is illegal, since “he has lived in Móstoles since December”, from the Consistory they have decided to continue with the investigation about whether he really resides at the registered address.

“As in any other case, the Police will be in charge of verifying whether or not he lives at the address where he is registered and the INE Council will analyze the reports submitted after a PP militant denounced through an anonymous letter to the vice-councillor”, added the Consistory in a statement.

From the City Council they insist that “if the police actions confirm that Bautista does not actually live in Móstoles, the Department of Statistics will notify the candidate for Mayor of the start of the file to proceed with their removal from the municipal register and their transfer to the Registration Council of the INE”.

“If the candidate has nothing to hide, the file will be closed without consequences. I encourage Mr. Bautista to stop victimizing himself and offer the evidence that is required because he is the one who has registered in Móstoles, in secret , days before the closing of the electoral census”, added the mayor of the Presidency and Urban Development, Marisa Ruiz (PSOE).

In addition, Ruiz has assured that “the register verification that is done with other citizens” will be carried out, something that “he understands that the PP did when it governed this city”, basically because “the law obliges you to do it” in “a procedure usual”.

“They will understand that with the history of prosecuted and accused PP mayors that we have in Móstoles, we do not trust a candidate imposed by finger,” he added, denying that the data from the register came from any municipal official, but from “a letter anonymous of a former member of the PP”.

From the PP they insist that Bautista is suffering “a persecution” and “a hunt” by the PSOE, that “he is more nervous every day” and that “far from investigating” where the personal data of Bautista’s registration have come from ” what they do is denounce the victim himself”.

In fact, the PP candidate himself defended this Wednesday that he moved to live “at the end of December” in Móstoles, that “he is currently living in Móstoles, in Estoril II, a well-known neighborhood here in Móstoles” and that all this is “an absolutely nonsense case.”

For this reason, the general secretary of the PP in Madrid, Alfonso Serrano, has once again asked the general secretary of the PSOE-M, and candidate for the Presidency, Juan Lobato, to “stop harassing and persecuting the PP candidates and to make dignified politics, make honest politics and make honest politics”.
