More than 282,000 people are waiting to collect the vote by mail for the elections next Sunday at the offices of the postal company, having not been located at home when the postman went to deliver it up to two times, while 2,342,430 documentations have been delivered by hand to the voters.

Correos has reported in a statement that “100% of the electoral documentation sent to people who requested the vote by mail has already been made available to voters”; Specifically, 2,622,808 people requested it and until Tuesday, 2,342,430 electoral documents had been delivered by hand, 89.3%. It has not located the rest of the petitioners.

The company calls on the public to come to its offices as soon as possible to collect the electoral documentation. At the same time you can collect the documentation and cast the vote.

The deadline for casting the vote ends on Thursday, July 20, and extended hours of each office can be consulted on the website www.correos.es.

For the electoral day of July 23, Correos is entrusted with the mission of delivering the votes sent by mail at the polling stations. To do this, it will establish a special logistics deployment, made up of more than 14,000 professionals, including delivery personnel, offices and treatment centers, and it will mobilize all the vehicles in its fleet that are necessary for the correct development of its mission.

When the polling stations open, a first team of personnel from the public postal company will deliver the votes in custody at the 60,314 polling stations distributed in the 22,562 polling stations of the 8,131 municipalities in Spain. Another group of employees will deliver to the polling stations those votes by mail that could be received during the course of the day.

Finally, another team will collect the so-called “third envelope”, with the final result of the scrutiny, from the polling stations of each and every one of the country’s polling stations.
