Ésdansa, the reference festival for root dance in Catalonia, grows for another year and is close to pre-pandemic figures. More than 10,000 people have come to celebrate its 41st edition, which included thirty activities spread over a week.
All of them represented a strong commitment to young people and creation, although, as every year, shows by renowned international companies were also programmed. The Viorica from Moldavia, Minchanzama from Peru, Crane from Uganda and the Julio Sosa Tango company from Uruguay stand out.
The rain forced some shows to be relocated, which ended up taking place normally, with the exception of the Party in the Park, which had to be cancelled.
The Círculo de Cultura Tradicional y Popular Marboleny is in charge of organizing the festival that was born in 1983 under the name of Les Preses International Music and Dance Festival and that to this day has not stopped reinventing itself. He has already announced in fact the dates for next year: from August 19 to 25.
